![]() Prices start around $50 for the basic models and can sell for over $100 for more advanced models. Some of these TV tuners also include a remote control for easy access and programming. Internal TV tuner cards for desktop computers plug into either a PCI or PCI Express slot, and external TV tuners are also available for use with laptop and desktop computers. Their line of WinTV tuner cards work with many computers and operating systems, including Windows XP, Vista, and 7. One of the popular and well-known brands of TV tuner cards is Hauppauge. A TV tuner card can even provide a method for recording TV shows on the computer for later viewing, similar to how a DVR (digital video recorder) device works. The computer could then display basic cable stations and digital cable stations on the monitor. The TV tuner card allows the user to connect a coaxial cable to the computer. I actually have a Desktop with a card that has 2 DVI ports on an ASUS M52bc-M32bc from 2016 but has no onboard video adapter. An expansion card capable of showing TV stations on a monitor using a TV tuner card. If I wanted 2 monitors I'd get a card with 2 identical ports, VGA or DVI or DisplayPort, maybe a mix of VGA and DVI will work. The empty slot PCI 1 ( underneath) is covered by the graphic card. On the PCI EX161 is my graphic card GTX 285. Most times I've seen a computer with 2 monitors the computer had more than 8GB RAM, either ran powerful programs or were gamers. On the PCIEX11 and PCIEX41 is free.At the end of the PCIEX11 is a blue 'cover /lid /cap' so the end of the TV tuner PCI E card wont fit there. OBTW, I've been in in the BIOS and changed to this video card and in settings it doesn't even detect multiple monitors.I don't think the DDR3 RAM on the video card is any issue, it's separate from the motherboard RAM, however the amount of RAM on the card may have an effect. Would that be the reason why the Windows is not giving the options in display to setup multiple monitors. Now one of the particulars I have is that this particular motherboard doesn't take DDR3 RAM. I have a AMD Radeon HD-7450 graphic video card and its 2048M DDR3 VGA PCI e card. I bought a barebones PC that won't give me the option to have 2 display monitors hooked up. ![]()
